Community Online Calendar Guidelines
Objective:
The Community Online Calendar, managed by the volunteer-led organization Groveland Community News (GCN), serves to highlight events, programs, and activities that either take place within the Town of Groveland or have an impact on Groveland residents, even if held outside the town.
Eligibility:
Eligible events must:
● Take place within the Town of Groveland and/or be specifically relevant to Groveland residents.
● Have a significant impact on the Groveland community, such as regional fundraisers or events hosted by Groveland-based organizations, including those at Pentucket Regional Middle-High School.
● Garage Sales: Garage sales within Groveland are allowed to be posted.
Events are not restricted solely to Groveland residents; participation is open to all, provided the event aligns with the above criteria.
Approval Process:
Review:
A designated team member from Groveland Community News (GCN) will review and approve all submissions.
Criteria for Approval:
● Relevance: Events must meet the geographic or community impact criteria.
● Accuracy: Ensure that all event details are correct and clearly described.
● Alignment with Community Values: Events must reflect the values and guidelines of the community.
Community Values:
● Inclusivity: Events should be open and accessible to all members of the community, regardless of background or belief.
● Respect: Events should promote respect, understanding, and harmony among community members, avoiding anything discriminatory, offensive, or divisive.
● Safety: Events must prioritize the safety and well-being of all participants.
Content Guidelines:
● Descriptions: Provide clear, concise descriptions that include all relevant details.
● Formatting: Use consistent formatting to ensure readability.
● Updates: Keep information current and notify the calendar manager promptly of any changes.
Restrictions:
● Business Advertising: The calendar is not intended for businesses to advertise sales, services, or promotions.
● Political or Religious Bias: Exclude events that promote a specific political or religious agenda unless they are non-partisan and open to all.
● Duplicates: Avoid duplicate listings of the same event to prevent clutter.
